At this special briefing you’ll hear:

  • Why it’s critical that community groups start work now to prepare for the next federal election
  • How early funding for the most promising community groups across the country is a powerful way to turbocharge their campaigns and give them the best chance of success
  • What Climate 200 has learned from supporting 60+ local community campaigns to scale their efforts
  • Why we know the most effective lever for turbocharging climate action and political integrity is to empower local, ground-up, community-driven leadership.

Climate 200 Executive Director, Byron Fay, will host the event and unpack Climate 200's plan to help campaigns win. He’ll be joined by special guests with tonnes of experience:

  • Allegra Spender, the Independent Member for Wentworth, former local business leader and renewable energy advocate, will speak about what it’s like running as an independent – and winning, and what a powerful Independent crossbench can achieve in Parliament.
  • Katerina Gaita, a successful community builder and organiser, was instrumental in setting up ‘Voices of Goldstein’ and helping the award-winning foreign affairs correspondent, Zoe Daniel, win in the Melbourne seat of Goldstein.
